Some of you may remember my daughter

Update

Some of you may remember my daughter, Jessie, and her courageous fight after a tragic accident. On August 5th, while rock climbing with her helmet on, she suffered a significant head injury that resulted in four weeks in the ICU, followed by 40 days in rehabilitation and an additional seven days for her cranioplasty. She returned home for a brief period before requiring another five-day hospital stay for a shunt placement.

Joyfully, Jessie began showing remarkable signs of recovery, gradually regaining movement on her left side. She worked hard to relearn how to breathe, swallow, speak, and chew, and her memory is excellent—though she can’t recall the day of her accident.

On December 30th, following her therapy sessions that morning, Jessie expressed a desire for a maze book to aid her recovery. While I stepped out to find one, she fell asleep, and when I returned, she was hard to wake. Her lethargy and escalating headache led us to rush her to the emergency department, where she was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.

Currently, she is back in the hospital while doctors conduct tests to identify the cause of her meningitis, potentially linked to her shunt or the 3D-printed bone flap.

I kindly ask for your prayers for Jessie and her medical team. Every doctor we’ve encountered has mentioned what a miracle she is, and I wholeheartedly believe in the reality of miracles. Please, add Jessie to your thoughts and prayers; she truly needs all the support she can get. Despite her kind heart and optimism toward others, she has grappled with feelings of guilt over her health issues, thoughts that could not be more unfounded.

Thank you so much for your support and love during this difficult time. ❤️❤️
