A couple came to a fancy restaurant, but the woman started yelling at a waitress, demanding she be fired.
Does being a customer give you the right to treat workers poorly? I hope not!
This is the story of a young waitress, told in her own words:
“I was so happy to get a job at this nice restaurant!
Even though I can’t hear well with my left ear and not at all with my right, they gave me a chance. I wear a hearing aid, so I can hear most things clearly.
One evening, an older couple came in for dinner.
Me: Welcome! Are you ready to order?
Wife: Call the manager, NOW!
Me: Is there something I can help you with?
Wife: No!
So, I went to get the manager.
Manager: Good evening. How can I help you?
Wife: Why is your waitress wearing headphones? Is she listening to music? We’re paying a lot to eat here, and we expect perfect service! This is unacceptable!
Everyone in the restaurant went silent.
Manager: Our staff isn’t allowed to wear headphones. If anyone is breaking this rule, let me know, and I’ll make sure they’re fired.
Wife: It’s her!
She pointed at me.
Manager: I’m sorry, but her behavior is crossing the line.
Wife: I agree!
Manager: I was talking about you. Your behavior is inappropriate! She isn’t wearing headphones—she’s wearing a hearing aid. Please leave and don’t come back.
The woman stormed out angrily, but her husband didn’t support her at all.
I’m so grateful to everyone who stood up for me that night. Thank you!”
