“Yesterday, my daughter and I were on a 4-hour flight to Chicago. I hadn’t traveled with her since she was about 6 or 7 months old, and let me tell you, my daughter was not happy 😩😩. She cried, screamed, threw her headphones, and did everything you can imagine. Thankfully, the couple sitting next to me were very kind and didn’t make a big deal about it.
So, with just 30 minutes left in the flight, I was feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to calm her down, and then the woman next to me asked if she could hold my daughter. My daughter was reaching for her, so I said okay, and within two minutes, my daughter was peacefully asleep in her arms.
There’s a lot going on in the world, but I still have faith that hate and racism will eventually disappear. This woman could’ve just minded her own business, put on her earphones, and ignored us. But she didn’t see color or anything else. She just saw a tired mom traveling alone with a fussy toddler and decided to help. I’ve seen posts like this before, but I never expected to experience it myself. It was truly amazing. I’m so thankful and grateful because, lord knows, my daughter was really acting up. I’m just so thankful for this stranger’s wonderful act of kindness!”
