While waiting in line to pay for groceries and keeping a 6-foot distance, a man suddenly cut in front of others. He didn’t seem to notice what he did.
The person he skipped didn’t say anything and just stayed at a safe distance.
When it was the man’s turn to pay, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small notepad — he had forgotten his wallet.
He looked a little sad and embarrassed. The person he skipped stepped forward and told the cashier they would pay for his groceries. (He only had milk and chocolate chip cookies.)
The man was very thankful. He said thank you nicely and left.
The cashier asked the person who paid, “He cut you off, and you paid for his groceries. Why?”
They smiled and said, “I hope that if one day my dad forgets his wallet, someone will buy his milk and cookies.”
With so much negativity in the world, I wanted to share this small act of kindness.
A little kindness can mean a lot. Why not pass it on?
