In the movie, someone is shot, the only way to save their life is to remove the bullet. They dig it out, usually from just under the skin an inch or two, cauterize the wound and he is saved. I was shot in real life. I took 6 bullets point blank. One went in the back of my head and exited my chin, one went in my elbow and travelled the length of my arm and is now in the ball joint of my shoulder but the rest went through my humerus, out of my arm and then into my torso. Did they dig those bullets out? Heck no. They just left them in place. Your body encapsulates them, and you do not die from lead poisoning. However, in my case, and over the course of 15 years, I have had 3 of those bullets work their way to the surface of my back, where I grew a nipple. I knew what it was,
because these bullets have caused me pain for 15 years, plus, when I would hit it with the back scratcher, there was a metallic sound. So, when the first nipple grew on my back, I went to the doctor and asked him to remove it. He told me to go to the ER and have them do it. The ER asked how I knew it was a bullet. I responded that it must be a bullet because nobody shot me with an arrow. They X Rayed it and were amazed that it was indeed a bullet and removed it.
