Jamie Lee Curtis had grown into Hollywood’s leading scream queen in the late 1970s and early 1980s — especially through the Halloween movie series — but still she was mostly undefined as an actress (even though Perfect showed a much more attractive side of her acting).
And then came A Fish Called Wanda
in 1988.
Although Curtis had (and still has) Testicular Feminization Syndrome (TFS) — she was born with internal, undescended testes and no uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries, but externally with labia, vagina, and clitoris — she proved to be one of the most feminine performers in Hollywood, and moreover she also showed she was exceptionally talented and very very funny.
And although she was (and still is) genetically a man, she turned into one of the most recognized and voluptuously fine-tuned women in Hollywood overnight —
And that was just the start.
