Two weeks before Marlon Brando passed away in 2004, he changed his will. In it, he officially recognized 11 of his children, even though he was known to have more.
One of his daughters, Petra, was left out of the will. Oddly, so was his grandson Tuki Brando, the son of his late daughter Cheyenne. Tuki and Marlon had been close, and Cheyenne was said to be Marlon’s favorite child.
The Brando family was big. Along with his 10 children mentioned in the will, there were around 30 grandchildren. The inheritance was about $30 million. But after splitting it among so many people, along with fees and deductions, no one in the family ended up particularly wealthy.
Tuki, the only grandchild specifically left out, wasn’t upset. He believed his grandfather did it to push him to create his own success. Tuki went on to become a successful male model and also studied medicine. Today, he’s a doctor living a private life, far from the spotlight.
Most of the Brando family lives quietly too. None became super rich, and none followed Marlon into show business.
