Today, I said goodbye to my beloved Mama Rose. Her life was filled with hardship—she endured abuse, was used as a fighting dog, forced to breed, and even treated as bait. When she was no longer considered useful, she was abandoned while heavily pregnant, her mouth cruelly sealed with duct tape. By fate and kindness, a dear friend found her and saved her life. I was blessed to later adopt her and one of her puppies.
Mama Rose was extraordinary—strong, wise, and breathtakingly beautiful. She carried herself with quiet grace and resilience, a truly noble soul. About a week ago, she began eating less, and after multiple veterinary visits, it became clear her condition was serious. Even then, she remained brave, never letting her pain show, holding on with strength until her final moments.
Though she is no longer physically here, her presence will forever walk beside me and her son during our treasured early-morning strolls beneath the stars.
