Today, I had a sad interaction with a woman. I went to the post office, and in the parking lot, there was a woman asking for money. Her clothes were in really bad shape, and she seemed to be struggling.
She asked if I could give her some money, but I didn’t have any cash on me. Instead, I asked if she wanted a new shirt from the dollar store next door.
She replied, “What’s the point of trying to look beautiful when I’m so ugly?” 😭
I told her, “Well, beauty, like people, is not just one thing.”
Yes, I did go get her some clothes, water, antibiotic ointment, and bandaids. But that’s not the main point. The real point is that no one should ever feel like they aren’t beautiful. Even with our differences, struggles, and pain, there’s still beauty inside of all of us. I hope she felt a little bit of that today, and I hope you feel it too 🫶
