This afternoon, I had such a heartwarming experience! I decided to take the 64 bus home from Kendall Square since it was way too hot to walk. The bus driver, an older lady named Debbie, has only been with the T for about two years. I noticed three gift bags behind her seat and couldn’t help but ask if they were for her. She told me that she often helps a homeless mom with three little kids who are staying in a hotel in Allston. Out of the goodness of her heart, Debbie has gathered a bunch of gifts and treats for the kids. She’s been holding onto those bags for a few days because she hasn’t seen the mom and her children on the bus lately. I find Debbie’s random act of kindness incredibly inspiring. It really shows how even the smallest gestures can lift someone’s spirits during tough times. She doesn’t want any recognition for what she does; she just wants to spread some kindness to that mom and her kids. But I really feel like she deserves a shoutout! Thanks a ton, Debbie! Keep shining!
