“They Aren’t Related by Blood, But They Are Daddy and Daughter”

When my husband fell in love with me, he also fell in love with my daughter. She was just 9 months old then, and now she’s almost 3—a true daddy’s girl.

Though they aren’t related by blood, their bond is unbreakable. He’s there when she cries. He’s there when she needs comfort. To us, “stepfather” isn’t a word we use—he is her father in every way that matters.

Their connection runs so deep that he’s now adopting her. Soon, they’ll be officially father and daughter.

This photo was taken at 2 AM. He had been gone for 14 days, and she couldn’t sleep. So he snuck home from work just to hold her.

That’s the kind of father he is.
