The last 24 hours really show why my wife is the best.
We woke up before 3 AM to catch a 7:00 flight.
When we got to Spokane International, things were a mess. We had no chance of making our flight. Since we had an international flight to Morocco, the kiosks wouldn’t let us print our boarding passes. We ended up stuck in the “problem passengers” line for over three hours before finally getting to talk to an agent.
While we were waiting, an elderly woman fainted and fell to the floor. Our agent rushed to help her and stayed with her until the ambulance crew arrived.
Then, the woman next to us was trying to rebook a flight for her child, but she didn’t have enough money. She was almost in tears because her wallet was in her car, and if she went to get it, her child would miss the flight.
I was about to reach for my wallet to help, but my wife beat me to it. She offered to pay for the extra fee and refused any attempt to get reimbursed.
We stayed anonymous, didn’t give our names, and just wished her child a safe flight.
And guess what? Even with all the delays, we ended up making all our flights anyway.
