The famous Italian diver, Enzo Mallorca, was diving in the hot sea of Syracuse and was talking to his daughter Rossana who was on the boat, ready to dive, felt something slightly hit his back, turned around and saw a dolphin, understood then that he did not want to play but express something.
The animal dived and Enzo followed him, about 12 meters deep, caught in an abandoned net, there was another dolphin. Mallorca asked his daughter to pick up her diving knives. In a few minutes the two managed to free the dolphin that at the end of the forces managed to emerge, emitting an “almost human scream” (this is how Mallorca describes it).
A dolphin can hold on underwater for up to 10 minutes, then drowns.
The released dolphin, still dizzy, was checked by Enzo, Rossana and the other dolphin. Then came the surprise: it was a female, who soon gave birth to a puppy.
The male surrounded them and, standing in front of Enzo, touched their cheek (like a kiss), a gesture of gratitude… and they walked away.
Enzo Mallorca ended his speech saying: “Until man learns to respect and dialogue with the animal world, he will never be able to know his true role on this Earth.”
