My dad Ralph

“My dad, Ralph, turned 90 years old today.

I wanted to get him a couple of great steaks, so I went to the Grape Road Meijer in Mishawaka, Indiana, but the meat counter had just closed, and there was nothing in the cases. A man cleaning up behind the meat counter pointed out where the pre-packaged sirloin and T-bone steaks were located. I asked, ‘Which ones are better?’

The man said, ‘Wait,’ and went through the doors to the back room. He came back out with two beautiful porterhouse steaks he had picked out earlier and set aside for himself and his wife. He mentioned to me his wife said she was making spaghetti tonight, so I could take them. And then he just walked away. It was such a kind thing to do, and he didn’t even know it was for my 90-year-old father’s birthday gift.

I wish I could have gotten his name so I could thank him again.”
