No they don’t just go to sleep. My son was diagnosed with gliosarcoma grade 4 terminal brain tumor August 11, 2022.
He had brain surgery August 14th of 2022. He had 45 rounds of Radiation and Chemotherapy which did nothing at all.
He had horrible headaches and pain constantly no matter how much morphine and fentanyl we gave him. He didn’t want to be in a hospital he wanted to be home with family. We accommodated him.
He went on hospice and we took care of him at home. He would have seizures and strokes. He couldn’t eat or drink for 3 weeks before he passed.
He hardly slept the whole time.
It was horrible watching him suffer so much.
His breathing was gasping even with oxygen.
The night he passed was March 6th, 2023, he was alert but couldn’t speak. We were holding his hand and he was squeezing us letting us know he knew he took his last breath at 1:20am.
Then we found out that with brain tumors he should have been in the hospital so they could have controlled his pain and he would have slipped quietly without pain. They would have put him in a coma.
But he chose to be home with family and friends.
He lasted 7 months from diagnosis.
We sure do miss him and love him very much.
This ys not everything that happened just a short version.
The rest is personal and to close to talk about.
