I had to sign for a FedEx letter yesterday

I had to sign for a FedEx letter yesterday. I wasn’t expecting anything, so when I opened it and read it, I started crying right away.

The letter said:

“Dear Jessica,

In 2009, at Fort Hood, you attended a C.W. Bill Young Department of Defense Marrow Donor Program drive. You have been identified as a potential match for a patient who needs a life-saving marrow transplant.”

The letter told me to contact the match coordinator right away, which I did this morning. She explained that the patient has Leukemia, and I immediately felt a tug at my heart.

My son beat stage 4 Leukemia in 2022, and it’s amazing how life comes full circle. Back then, someone out there helped save my son’s life with blood transfusions and donor platelets.

Now, 16 years later, it’s my turn to help someone, just like others helped my son survive. God works in mysterious ways.
