I bought tickets to an Elton John concert for my autistic son, and he was so excited. We couldn’t wait for the night to come.
When the big night arrived, we got to the venue and stood in line. We scanned our tickets, only to be told they were fake and we couldn’t go in. My son was heartbroken, and I couldn’t stop crying either. We went to the ticket booth, and they confirmed the tickets were fake and said we couldn’t enter.
I had spent $400 on those tickets.
Just when I thought everything was ruined, a man appeared out of nowhere and said, “I will pay for two tickets so you can go in.” I was so shocked and grateful, but by the time I turned to thank him, he was already gone.
The concert was amazing, and my son had the time of his life.
The next day, I called the local radio station to try and find the kind stranger. The story spread to other radio and TV stations, and we even made it into the newspaper. We really wanted to thank this man.
Finally, we found him. He called me, and all he wanted to know was if my son had enjoyed the concert. I told him that he had a great time, and he didn’t want his money back.
Even four years later, I can’t thank this kind stranger enough for giving my son such a special night to remember.
