This is a difficult task:
You see two guys sitting in a bar. Both are athletically built and have their hair a tad too long for a regular army guy.
One of them, let’s call him Adam, is nursing his beer but doesn’t like to talk with strangers. Still, he’s very polite and educated about it.
If someone asked him what he was doing, he would probably say something like “I’m in the military” and quickly change the subject. On the other hand, if you want to talk about literature or ancient history with Adam, he’ll open up and engage in a conversation.
Rob Huberty. According to his own words, it was him who made it fashionable for Navy SEALs to wear high end “Rolex” luxury watches. (Picture: Esquire).
The other guy is Brett. Brett is much louder than Adam, and after three beers, he thinks he owns the bar. You do not need to ask Brett what he’s doing; he will tell you right away: “SEAL Team 8! The best!” Then he will tell you some stories of how tough he is and how they did this or that awesome operation.
Adam may serve in some special forces outfit but it’s rather unlikely. For all we know, he may even be a civilian. He’s not a Navy SEAL, though, that’s for sure.
Brett, on the other hand, is the real deal. He’s definitely a SEAL. If you still have doubts, ask him if he has found a publisher for his upcoming tell-all autobiography. He is probably carrying the publishing contract with him in his pocket.
