Throughout human history Josef Mengele established himself as one of the most evil men ever known. Auschwitz served as his domain where he exercised this power to determine life or death for 400,000 victims who directly ended up in the gas chambers. He went beyond his existing initiative because he wanted to conduct medical experiments on people which reduced them to mere test subjects rather than human individuals.
Twins held a peculiar obsession for Mengele. Mengele connected multiple twins with surgical stitches before he administered unknown substances through their bodies thus he proceeded to execute one twin to study their post-mortem anatomy. Without anesthetics Mengele performed fearful surgical procedures on people who remained conscious as he both operated and extracted organs during surgeries.
Mengele’s experiments were horrifying. Mengele cut off sick prisoner heads which he sent to German laboratories after blocking child limb blood flow to observe decomposition and performing eye chemical injections on prisoners to alter their eye color. On a single night he poisoned 14 pairs of twins in their hearts before spending hours to dissect their bodies throughout the evening.
His cruelty had no limits. At the time of a disease epidemic in the camp he ordered the execution of all prisoners in affected barracks to achieve “cleaning” of the space. Mengele pulled out his gun then shot the mother along with her daughter after she refused separation during selection at the platform.
Mengele moved to a new country after World War II starting a new life although his actions had caused extensive misery. When the war concluded Mengele escaped to South America where he changed his name before continuing to practice medicine. Mengele escaped prosecution for all his cruel offenses while enjoying freedom throughout numerous years.
