Don Clark, a resident of Paradise, CA, was found sitting in a chair amidst the ruins of what was once his home. He recounted how, during the fire, he attempted to evacuate but became trapped in his vehicle on a blocked roadway. Despite surviving the fire, Don chose to remain at his property to protect his animals. He successfully saved one of his dogs and one of his cats, though another cat was still missing. Remarkably, Don also managed to save his neighbor’s house by personally battling the flames.
Don’s focus wasn’t on himself but on the animals and the homes he couldn’t save. Deputies provided Don with some food and noted that he appeared to be in relatively good spirits, considering the ordeal he had just endured.
