A long time ago in a French city during the Middle Ages

A long time ago, in a French city during the Middle Ages, there was a strange habit among married women. Every morning, the wives would put a tiny bit of poison in the food they made for their husbands. Later, when the men came home in the evening, they would get the antidote to make them feel better. This way, the poison wouldn’t harm them.

There was a reason for this unusual practice. If the husbands stayed out too long and didn’t get the antidote on time, they would start feeling sick—nausea, headaches, sadness, vomiting, pain, or shortness of breath. The longer they stayed away, the worse they would feel. Finally, when they returned home, their wives would unknowingly give them the antidote, and the men would feel better in just a few minutes.

The idea behind this was to make the husbands think that staying away from home caused them pain and discomfort. This way, they would want to come home more quickly and take their family more seriously.

What do you think of this strange idea? 😂
