A Father’s Prayer for His Daughter’s Healing

0

Just yesterday, our happy little 3-year-old, Joy, was jumping on the trampoline and painting pumpkins in the backyard. But today, we got the news every parent fears—our sweet girl has been diagnosed with leukemia. Today, she’s having more tests done, and we’ll be staying with her on the cancer floor at Comer Children’s Hospital in Hyde Park for at least a week. The doctors told us this is going to be a long journey. Joy will need chemotherapy off and on for the next two years, and our beautiful princess will lose her long, brown hair.

This weekend, I was supposed to preach about God’s Kingdom. Now, I’m calling on God’s Kingdom to come into my daughter’s life. I’m praying for her to be healed and for her to have the strength to fight this disease. I know the world isn’t perfect, but I believe God started fixing things when Jesus came. Even though we’re waiting for everything to be made right, I believe God can still do miracles now.

Will you pray with us? Please pray for Joy, for her healing, and for strength. Pray for Nikki, Cam, Ian, and me as we support her. And please pray for the doctors and nurses who are caring for her. We’ve been heartbroken since we heard the news, and Joy is scared and doesn’t understand why she can’t go home
