Just a gentle reminder that you never know

“This is my car, and I am legally allowed to park in handicap spaces because of cancer treatment and exhaustion. Just because you can’t see something doesn’t mean it’s not real. I had a grade 2 ependymoma on my brain stem. It was removed on July 28th, and I started radiation 5 weeks ago today. I only have about a week and a half left of treatment, and my last scan came back good.

I still have a small speech problem, but it’s getting better. Just because I look okay walking from my car to the building doesn’t mean I’m not fighting cancer and going through radiation. I’m not asking for sympathy, but just asking for people to understand that everyone has their own struggles, even if you don’t know what they are. Be kind to people. Try to make others smile, not upset them. Love each other. I will choose to love the person who made me upset and pray for them. I hope the hurt in their heart is replaced with love and happiness.”
