A Cruel and Shocking Act
I have seen many examples of cruelty towards the poor. History is full of them. But this one might be the most shocking.
In the late 1970s, a rich man in New York was photographed urinating on a homeless person.
Did the homeless man eat the night before? Was he freezing in the cold? When was the last time he had a warm bath? Was he sick? What happened in his life that led him to this situation?
The rich man didn’t care about any of these things. It wasn’t enough for him to simply ignore the homeless man. Even though he had everything—money, comfort, and luxury—he wanted more.
He needed to humiliate someone who had nothing, a man lying on the cold streets of New York, just to make himself feel powerful.
